She made me laugh, cry and realize what a difference a wonderful teacher like 'Ericksen' can make in our children's lives! Her experiences can be applied in all walks of life and work. I have known the author for 55 years and she has always been a favorite of those that know her. She walks the walk and talks the talk. She shares her wonderful insights with us in this book that lifts and makes us all better!

Making a strong impression is a sample of the lessons Vickie wishes she'd known when she first started teaching. With her unique wit Vickie tells us how to use extra credit to get students do what she wants. This is much more than a memoire. It is an instruction manual about unusual classroom situations. "I tell the students that there can be great beauty and understanding between the age groups if we weren't so afraid of each other," she tells us as an older teacher who returned to school after her children had grown. But who knows what can happen when its 37 to one. Vickie knows. If you are tying to figure out if you really want to be a teacher, this is the book for you.
