About the Author Karrie Bunting was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. She and her husband Ryan moved from their hometown to the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains to live the country life and enjoy the outdoors. She continues her adventurous life in the mountains, raising their four children and working on various homesteading projects around the house. Her favorite things in life are laughing, reading a good book, and eating chocolate, and if those three things can happen all at once, it is a dream come true. She hopes one of her children will become a master chef so she doesn't have to cook anymore, and her most appreciated appliances are her washer and dryer.

On the order of "The Egg and I," "Please Don't Eat the Daisies," and "The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank." She kept it light when she could have moaned and groaned about the obvious hardships. She has a good handle on what is truly important in life. I especially enjoyed the 22 Tips and Tricks for Living in a small space, good advice for all of us, whatever our living conditions. I hope she writes more.

This book made me laugh, a lot, and cry, a little. Any book that can do both gets put into my "will read it again" pile.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful, Zany Adventures as a Young Suburban Family Lives in a Trailer in the Sierra Nevadas. By Bill Anderson Length: 166 pages.Imagine Lucille Ball, as Lucy in I Love Lucy, had decided to move to the Southern Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Add to the equation that she and Ricky choose to live in a trailer while they build their new home, and that they have to comply with 21st Century building codes and all associated bureaucracy.Add one more complication: Lucy is several months pregnant with little Ricky. Oh, and her husband has a job several miles away from home....hmm, what could possibly go wrong for our dear Lucy. This book is possibly the most delightful, zany book of adventures you will read this year.Oh, what really makes this book a bit more special to me is that in 1929 my grandfather started to homestead in the region (but at a much higher elevation), so, as I was reading this, I also was imaging my father's family in the area with none of the comforts of home. In fact, gramps had to leave the car down in the valley, then hike some 17 miles in summer, or cross country ski in winter. For those curious folks, the homestead was on the Kern River, South Fork ad I recall.
