I finally felt it was time for me to start making and bringing in some money while doing what I love. This book contained a lot of valuable information as to how to bring in more money with a small blog which can eventually grow into a larger blog. I recommend this book for anyone just getting started in blogging so that they can immediately start making money. I was sent this book in exchange for my honest review.

Nice Summary By Iris I decided to read this book because my blog is a very small and I barely have an audience so I hoped to get some insight into transforming my small blog into a bigger one. I was also interested to hear about the demonetization strategies that it will discuss.Chapters: Introduction Direct Advertising Sponsor Content Display Advertising: Banners & Graphics Advertising Networks Affiliate Marketing Branded Sponsor Campaigns Build a Mailing List I have previously read two additional books on the same subject but unlike them, this book focus on the methods that a blogger can employ to generate money. For the most part, I was familiar with some of the strategies but I got to learn about a few new ones which is great. I will understand that most experience blogger probably would find some of the strategies common knowledge but this book is not target toward them. I am neither a beginner nor an expert in the blogging community. I am still learning and trying to establish and grow my blog.Additionally, I liked that the author took his time to share some of his previous mistakes and that in every chapter he would include a short list of pros and cons about an specific strategy. It is really helpful and informative. He does not provide every little detail but enough to allow you to consider it as a possible strategy. As he mentions certain strategies, I made a list of them and I will be doing my own research. I appreciate that the books does a nice job to make sure you consider both the advantages and disadvantages before employing a new strategy. I am a strong believer of making inform decisions.I also like the tone of the book, it informs the reader in a very friendly manner and it does it in very clear and concise way. I felt that a friend was advising me about career options. He also emphasizes the importance of quality and offering better content. No matter what strategy we choose, we need to remember to maintain the quality of our work and to not let dollar signs distract us from our goal and damage our integrity and the relationship we have with our readers.If you are looking for ways to monetize your blog and are not sure where to start, I would advise tou to consider reading this small and compact book. It is really easy to read and it does not waste time repeating the same concepts. It is a nice summary of popular monetizing strategies and it is a good start. It is definitely something I’ve started doing and am interested in learning more about. As a blogger, getting free stuff is not too difficult, because our reviews are influential and valuable. But blogging isn’t just about getting things for free. There are opportunities to turn a blog into a profitable venture, and I am very interested in making my blog a good side hustle. Luke Weil’s How To Monetize A Small Blog sounded like a great book to pick up to work on growing my blog.I liked that the book talked about various aspects of monetization and included the pros and cons of each. Each chapter had a good overview of the monetization option to give the reader an idea of each approach. There are also some good examples to show how a particular approach can fit in a blogger’s specific niche. The book reminds us that we must blog with integrity and disclose our relationships with sponsors clearly but to also select projects that fit our blog topics seamlessly.I did think the book structure could have been organized better. For example, the table contents is labeled “Glossary”, rather than what it actually is, a table of contents. The book also jumps around between monetization options, but it would make sense to keep the related options together. For example the chapters on the different ad types – direct and ad network – would have flowed better if they were together and not separated by a chapter on another topic.I would have loved to see more examples and specific tips and suggestions, but a book that is about 30 pages isn’t able to go into that much detail. The book really works to give us a push in the right direction and help us select an approach or two. Then we are on our own to gather further knowledge and pursue the selected monetization approaches.
