He was a rancher in Texas. She discovers that he is a mountain lion shifter and wants to leave right now one minute. Later the same day she wants to be one. That makes no sense.Second book is the worst. It ends very abruptly with no resolution.Third book was the best. Cecily was running from an abusive fiance. She found Owen a wolf shifter who became her protector.Fourth book was ok. Hailey suddenly became a widow after less than a year of marriage. She went for a drive to be alone. A stag ran her off the road. She walked to a home in the area where she spent the night. That's where she med Alex the stag shifter.I had a really hard time finishing this collection. It did not hold my interest. It took me days longer than usual to finish it and read several other books in between. I only continued because I was given an advanced copy for my review.
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Shifters galore!!!! By Debra Y Frost Ms. Slade takes us on 4 journeys into the world of shifters - bears, mountain lions, wolves and a stag! One woman trying to find the perfect man after so many disastrous dates, another trying to claim what has been left to her, one running from an abusive boyfriend and one just trying to go on living when she feels like she died inside. Four unique stories full of suspense, steamy love scenes and happily ever after. Highly recommend.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Couldn't get through the first one... By Jennifer Campbell I tried trudging through the first story, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. Firstly, the string of dates? Really? That bad luck is not bad luck. It was a lot of horrible tastes in guys, no matter who set them up. Secondly, after one week, you want to fly from Chicago to Texas and drive for a few hours more? Uh... no thanks... then it becomes even more unrealistic. This girl gets on a horse. A city girl from Chicago gets on a horse with no one else around, willingly? I can't see it... Maybe if she grew up with horses and later moved to Chicago, but that is not what happened. Then she gets saved by Tyler in cougar form from a coyote, and she passes out. He basically tells her she can't leave until she agrees not to tell anyone about his shifting, and proceeds in seducing her after she said no, just like the last date, Scott, "you'll like it once you're naked," only this time she was okay with it. You know, he smelled it on her, after all.Oh, it's garbage....
