4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Should be four and a half stars By Hrvats Lots of action, especially in the last quarter of the book. He spends a little too much time on little stuff that does not anything to the story but the action parts hard not to read. Interesting twists in the story. One of the items are that there is not just one hero but many. It is refreshing? to let the actual feelings of people in war be published. War is not about being fearless but it is about overcoming those fears which the author portrays accurately. I look forward to the next book in the series. Worth the money to read it.

Shadows of the Gods By Sherry Dixon Great depth into the characters in this book as Admiral Compton uses all his tricks and luck trying to save as many of the fleeing fleet as possible. New directions and new relationships, I don't want to give anything way, so I'll just say I loved it.

By JJCEO Trapped behind enemy lines the force commanded by Admiral Compton have to find a way to survive. They are running low on fuel, food, weapons and ships. They are essentially surrounded by the forces of the First Imperium with no way to escape or to survive.....This is an action filled military Sci-Fi book that held my attention from the beginning to the end. Jay Allan's books are just getting better and better for me and I have read and enjoyed them all. I liked this story and I rated it at 5 stars. I don't want to have any story spoilers so I'll stop here. If you have been reading this series of books then this one answers a lot of questions. It is a good book!
