Good Read Despite Some Negatives By Rose Riker It was a tragic story and I am so sorry that the murderer of Janette Roberson has never been found after almost 32 years. I realize since the murder remains unsolved still that Ms. Decker can release few details about the murder itself, but I felt she could have fleshed out the character of Ms. Roberson a bit more despite not being able to talk to her family and that she spent too much time in the beginning complaining about how her freedom of information requests got ignored and/or screwed up and how expensive they were. Still and all it was a chilling read despite the negatives and I do hope the killer will eventually slip up some way and be caught so this young woman can finally have justice.
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A Michigan Author with "Voice" By Georgiana Crane This is a good read for someone who admittedly does not write true-crime to begin with. I agree with her on many points but feel she dropped the ball when looking at the main patrons listed in the store that day. A closer look at those individuals might reveal an accomplice or a trend in behavior.Overall a great read from this Michigan author. I enjoyed her "voice" in the story and honesty about the failings of the Michigan police system. I read aloud, many times, as she can really turn a phrase.This book will have you googling the crime, even if you grew up hearing about it.
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. A very good read. By Lori Brinks A very good read...especially if you enjoy learning the intricate workings of various public agencies. Having lived in Reed City at this time and personally knowing the victim and many of the public officials made it very interesting and frustrating to read. A very sad mystery made even more sad with the realization that because of some egos this case may never be solved.
