6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Other Reviewers Are Correct - Too Many Characters! By Amazon Customer I really wanted to like this book. I thoroughly enjoyed the first two, and liked the third one, but this book was a bit of a struggle. I completely agree with other reviewers, there are just way to many characters and POV's to keep track of. The story would have been much better served with fewer ancillary characters and more development of Quin and Zaria and their stories. Which brings me to my other gripes - **spoiler alert*****Zaria's appearance in this book and the subsequent focus on her as essentially a Quin 2.0 with even more powers I felt really detracted from what I thought was supposed to be Quin's story. I understand this book is the bridge between this series and the Cloud series, but the ending really felt contrived, and the deus ex machina wrapped everything up in a neat little bow (which is nearly impossible considering the problems created in the previous books). Additionally, the original and very pressing problem of the poisoned planets sort of fell to the wayside while everyone dealt with a pair of upset twins essentially throwing a galaxy-sized tantrum.I'll keep reading if any more in the series are published, but I hope if there are any more, I sincerely hope the amount of characters is scaled back.
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Too busy and poorly organized. By Ryan First off all, this story moves the overall story line forward, but there are some big problems.1) Too busy. Far too many character perspectives. Quinn, Zaria, Lissa, Ilya, Morid, Morett, Terret, Gerret, etc, etc. There were quite a few times where i had to go back a few pages to remind myself whose perspective I was reading at the time.There's no reason for the reader to know what EVERYONE is thinking.2) There are some pretty major inconsistencies. At the end of the God Wars, Lissa is supposed to be one of The Mighty. However, in this book she acts like she has little or no power. I can't tell if she doesn't realize her own power or if she's playing it down on purpose to avoid getting too personally involved in event.It seems like Zaria/Corinnelar has FAR more power than one of The Mighty, and that's just nuts.3) Pretty major plot hole with the rings. The twins are chasing after the rings that supposedly signifies their right to rule Karathia, but when the rings make their appearance, they know they can't wear them. If they knew they would never be able to wear them and claim the throne, what was the chase all about. It made no sense.

I had to keep going back to find out which character was narrating which broke the flow of the story even more. It got to the point where I really don't care who is going to win or which planet will blow up next.On the bright side Suttle used "rein" correctly which earned a star.
