A LIBRARIAN'S PRIVATE LIFE: MORE THAN JUST BOOKS By Bernadette Miller Barbara Foster's CONFESSIONS OF A LIBRARIAN: A MEMOIR OF LOVES, about her solo travels in foreign lands, is a fun read--very entertaining--as well as educational. Despite the author's demure job as a college librarian, during her travels she is daring and feisty, confronting dangerous situations with verve and gusto, such as being nearly kidnapped beside the Ganges. The women in her Confessions Club are depicted with compassion as real people facing problems. I highly recommend CONFESSIONS for anyone who delights in a can-do woman describing with flair an unusual yet believable world the reader can safely step into and enjoy.

Confessions of a Librarian by Barbara Foster By tough kid I enjoyed this book -- a great, fast read with lots of stories about a courageous woman traveler who went to exotic places where no woman tourist would dare to visit solo today--India, Israel, Argentina and more. Her husband wrote the foreword to his wife's erotic adventures in Confessions of a Librarian: A Memoir of Loves. Enjoy her trip from the comfort of your home.

An erotic pilgrim in the steps of Jacques Casanova and Anais Nin By evaclaudia I adored reading Prof Barbara Foster's Confessions of a Librarian: A Memoir of Loves because it provided an intimate guide to our not-so-lonely planet. She gave me a worm's-eye view of Eros with no hint of pornography. Her sexual adventures, from Istanbul to Bombay to Buenos Aires, to a night in a sleazy motel off the Jersey Turnpike, not to mention shacking up with a gangster in Greenwich Village, showed me how a daring woman can fulfill her fantasies. Barbara is an erotic pilgrim in the steps of Jacques Casanova and Anais Nin. The places she has gone, the men she has met and slept with, were adept guides to help extend her sexual range. Bawdy and bookish, she found romance in places that today we risk real harm if we go. The women of Barbara’s Confessions Club eat up her tales, then add their own to the brew. Her Confessions made me want to travel in an adventurous fashion to broaden my emotional horizons. It also delighted me that Barbara’s husband wrote the foreword.
