About the Author James O'Neil was born in Canandaigua, New York, in 1949. His parents owned a large family-operated dairy farm in Lyndonville, New York, located just a few miles from Lake Ontario. At age eleven, the farm was sold when it was decided that California was the place to prosper. His father tried his hand at owning a gas station, which eventually failed, and he was forced to find other work that led to his death. James graduated high school in 1967 and enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He served his country for twenty-one years and had the pleasure of living in several countries, visiting others, as well as living and traveling in the majority of the states. In 1970, he met his wife, Carol, who had two infants from a previous and abusive marriage. Together they raised the two children, but unfortunately, James did not father children of his own. When James retired from the Air Force, he gained employment at an aircraft manufacturing plant in Everett, Washington, where he worked until 2000, at which time he designed and built a home in the mountains of North Central Washington. Carol passed in 2008, and today, James resides alone in their dream home nestled within the forest. James has ten siblings but only nine surviving; the tenth died a tragic death at age nine. To occupy his time, he enjoys photography and wood-working, which is making beautiful and elaborate gear driven objects made entirely of exotic woods. He also takes advantage of his natural surroundings offered by nature and, oftentimes, takes extended motorcycle trips to various places of interest. The book Cold Creek evolved from boredom during the winter months. What started as something to occupy his evenings turned into a novel that was two winters in the making.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Nice reading. By Shirley This book makes you use your imagination and fill in with your own thoughts as you read. Very nice context and interesting characters. Brought tears in places, laughter in others but no bad language, sex, etc. Just a nice little story. Love how justice comes for young Mark after all his years of suffering and the bad guys will have miserable futures. Great punishment. I loved the book.

I did not want to put it down unless I had to. It is one of page turners that you can't wait to see what is coming next and who did what and why. I hope there will be more, like a series with the "GOV" and Buck Twice in helping people who are in need.
