By Liza O'Connor What a delightful boot camp.Not everyone has arrived for the same reason.Some packs sent their losers, some sent their trouble makers while one little female sent herself and she’s determined to kick ass regardless of her small size.Running the bootcamp is Pallus the vampire. His job is to teach this unlikely group to become a real pack. What a task! He also has strict rules against matings while at Bootcamp. Oh, and he doesn’t expect everyone to survive.Clare, the tiny female alpha may be small, but look out. She’s very bossy and a powerhouse.Ian is here because his alpha decided to contribute his most annoying pack member to the camp. Ian was waylaid, duct-taped, stuffed in trunk and delivered to Pallus. Clearly, this wolf has an attitude, but Pallus lets him in his bootcamp, so naturally Ian leaves the first chance he gets.Making a pack out of this group is harder than you imagine. Add the local small town jerks with guns who thinks anything that moves should be shot or burned in their sleep and their survival is in doubt.Somehow during all this, Ian and Paula manage to stop fighting each other and have a ‘totally against the rules’ romance.It’s fun from beginning to end with fabulous personalities and adventures.Warning: You’ll be left wanting to read the next of the series

They were all broken, damaged or insecure about themself weres, that were either rejected or misguided and just wanted to feel as if there were part of the pack.The story concept itself was good. The editing and layout needed work. This needed a really good beta read. This was a written as a multi pov, and in many spots, the pov changed without warning in the middle of an action. It would cause the story to grind to a halt to figure out who was doing what and saying what. This happened on more than one occasion. I love multi pov, but if you are going to write it, you have to make sure that it is separated in a way that it is easy to distinguish who is doing the action.The characters were nicely written for the most part. The dialogue flowed well, the descriptions to details were done nicely. Not a lot of romance really in this book, and I guess you can call it a HEA. Ian and Clare do end up as a mated couple, but we never got to see the "Mating" Yea, they had sex, which was very very tame but that was about it.Would I recommend this book? Yea, if you are looking for a soft read and are willing to overlook a few things.Would I read more from this author? Yes, I enjoyed the story enough to want to see what happens with this band of misfits.Sassy Beta Reading & Review

Educational and Good Read By A Reader Through The Eyes Of Serial Killers by Nadia Fezzani is more than just a book about the accounts of seven murderers. This book takes you directly into the mind of a serial killer where the deep, dark disturbing facts are laid out for us in this gripping novel. What makes a serial killer? Where do they come from? How did it all begin? These questions are answered in Fezzani's book directly by the serial killers that she interviewed. This book is very well written in an interview style format. While I was reading, I felt as if I was watching it all play in my mind. Fezzani's journalist background really shows throughout the book as she asked the most bold and interesting questions that readers would want to know about the lives of serial killers. These interviews are uncensored and challenging. I couldn't imagine, myself, sitting across from a serial killer asking daring questions. It is amazing how they seemed to have opened up to her. Fezzani breaks it down for you in her book. From the trauma of childhood, mental illness, abuse, and the type of psychology and reasoning that these serial killers use when they have committed these violent crimes. The most riveting interview in the book, for me, was with Joel Rifkin. His interview can be found in Chapter 5 titled Joel Rifkin: Joel The Ripper. Without giving too much away, the interview is gripping and starts off heavy and right to the point. Fezzani asks, “And then you decapitated her with an X-Acto Knife?” To which Rifkin boldly replied, “Yeah. It's just like a scalpel. It's easy to get into joints and then you can pop bones from the socket.” The interview takes off right there. But from the very beginning of it, I was drawn into reading more. The book is fast moving. Easy to read and understand. It is disturbing, because the subject matter is not a light one. There is a point to this book. It digs deep into the psychology of serial killing to explore the theories surrounding the making of a serial killer. The book is educational and seems to lean towards having the purpose of helping people understand serial killers to create better programs and strategies to help prevent this kind of violence in the future. There is a bit of humanity here. Hopefully, something we can all appreciate and understand.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Must Read! By Linda Armstrong I read the French version obtained directly from the author. Fabulous book, fabulous author. I refer it to people because it shows a different side of the equation, the environment these people live in and the prejudices that help shape their lives. It will make you think about your own part in creating any kind of criminal, or being a different influence on vulnerable people. This is not done in boring scientific study detail, so it is easy to read. I highly recommend it!

By SFF Dragon 'Ghost Wolf' is the sixth book in the terrific Wolves of Angels Rest series by Elsa Jade. It is also part of the multi-author Mating Season Collection of short, stand alone paranormal romances and I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely loved this story and really couldn't put it down until I got to the end. Corinne's story begins in the previous book (Lost Wolf) and was heartbreaking, so I'm glad she gets another chance at happiness so soon.Javier Roque is a werewolf without a wolf. His wolf never rose and he's never been whole, despite his father using brutal methods to make it, so in werewolf society he's considered a ghost wolf. He tried to get his wolf to rise until he was seven years old and nearly killed himself. At fourteen he stole a car, took off for Los Angeles and became a sought after tattoo artist. He never looked back until now. His beloved grandmother is dying so he's back in Angels Rest to look after her and finds ....The whole Mesa Diablo pack, as well as some trusted humans, know who Corinne Ayres is, and what happened to her. Her true mate Felix was tortured and destroyed by the Kingdom Guard and although he's still alive, the mate bond is broken forever and he's got a new mate. The only reason she's still in Angels Rest is because she's helping to track down the place Felix was taken and turned into Zane. Half her soul, all of her heart and her entire life were brutally ripped away from her and she wants to destroy those who did it. It's the only thing keeping her going, until ....I'm trying really hard not to give spoilers here, but this book has a lot of really wonderful characters and I especially loved Javi's Mee-Maw, who made me laugh out loud at some of her antics. I also has action, lots of steam, and the happily ever after we all expect when two wounded souls who find each other and both get someone who loves them. I cried a few times over the course of this book and at one particularly heartbreaking point had to wait until my tears cleared before I could carry on reading. I really can't wait for the next one. I love Elsa Jade's books and have read a lot of them, but I think this series is addictive and it just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love it.

By Kristy Heinicke I was given a copy of 'Ghost Wolf' by Elsa Jade, in exchange for an honest review.After recently reading the last book in this series, I had read the sneak peak of this book in the back... I couldn't wait to read this. I jumped right in once I had received 'Ghost Wolf' I was VERY intrigued about the heading & then the lead characters within. I do HIGHLY recommend you read this series "Wolves of Angels Rest" in order, it's not needed, but it does make alot more sense if you do.Corrine is in pain, to learn what was done to her mate & be able to see him, but not feel the connection anymore, to see him have the connection with someone else.... But she remains in Angels Rest to help his new pack find the Kingdom Guard responsible. A wolf without a wolf, Javier has sealed himself off emotionally, but something in Corrine draws him in....What can I say, other than WOW!! You felt Corrine's pain, her need to be close & yet the need to stay away, then when Javier crosses her path, things become very interesting. I can't wait to read what Elsa has in mind when things finally come to the Kingdom Guard & how the Pack are going to deal with them.Ghost Wolf is book 6 in Elsa's "Wolves of Angels Rest" series, which in turn is a part of the "Mating Season" pack series. A set of books from 6 authors, 6 different packs & an individuals story on finding their mate. I'm hoping that Elsa continues to write more of the "Wolves of Angels Rest" I've really enjoyed what I've read so far. I can't wait to delve into the other authors work in the "Mating Season" series.

My name is Gabrielle Landaeta, I am only eighteen years old, I am still a student at Bermudian Springs High School located in a little town called York Springs, in the state of Pennsylvania. I remember the first time a teacher put a pencil in my hand and said, "write." I knew from there that I was going to be a writer. The first story I ever wrote was about pirates, that sailed the seas in search of Gold, I remember I received an A+ on that test. Every time a teacher says, "Okay class! We are writing essays!" Everyone always moaned and groaned but not me! I always thought this is one more essay closer to my career. My parents, grandparents, aunts and uncle's supported me all the way through this book. I also have to mention my speech and drama teacher, who every class asked me, "how's your book." I do say, I have to thank her for that. That is honestly all I have about my life so far as my journey continues.

The author capably develops and propels her story and develops her characters fairly well. Dialogue is handled skillfully. Even though the subject matter is well-traveled and even though a bit more editing would help, the book is an entertaining read and is certainly reason for the author to continue to perfect her already admirable skill as a story teller. I'll be watching for more.

One of the reasons I love Lily Thorns writing is because there is a great balance between romance (steamy action) and action. You are not bombarded with constant sex which can become redundant, annoying and in my opinion truly ruin the book for a person. This book definitely kept me on my toes when trying to decide if certain characters were good or evil which kept me intrigued and needing to know what was going to happen next! Amazing book and a must read series. I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger but hopefully being a serial it won't be too long to wait.Ronan has come back with the mage (that Della told them about) in the hopes that he can help with the upcoming battle. Lia, Kane and the rest of the Twin River pack are preparing for the fight against Shade and the witches.During this battle, the surprises keep coming.I am waiting with baited breath to find out what happens in the next installment.

Desde sus primeras páginas, me he visto inmersa en una preciosa leyenda donde el amor es el protagonista. Los personajes me han encantado, pues tienen sus defectos y me parecen personas muy reales, con sus miedos y sus sentimientos ocultos. La atracción de la pareja protagonista me ha encantado y todas las escenas donde discuten, son fantásticas. Me la he leído en un suspiro, y cuando me he dado cuenta de que ha acabado, he dicho...no. Un final de vértigo donde nos sorprenden algunos personajes y nos deja una gran sonrisa en los labios.La recomiendo a todo aquel lector que quiera disfrutar de una preciosa historia de amor, donde la magia, el miedo, la pasión y los celos van de la mano de una manera muy bien relatada.

La verdad es que me sorprendió desde que la empecé porque si bien tiene escenas románticas y la historia se basa en el amor, me gustaron mucho todas las escenas basadas en la leyenda, la cual fue muy bien ideada.Felicito a la autora por la dinámica de la historia, las descripciones ricas y la atención en todo lo referido a lo ortográfico, gramatical y tipográfico, algo que veo que viene faltando en la gran mayoría de las novelas independientes de hoy en día. Se nota la seriedad con la que trabajó.

Despite the author's demure job as a college librarian, during her travels she is daring and feisty, confronting dangerous situations with verve and gusto, such as being nearly kidnapped beside the Ganges. The women in her Confessions Club are depicted with compassion as real people facing problems. I highly recommend CONFESSIONS for anyone who delights in a can-do woman describing with flair an unusual yet believable world the reader can safely step into and enjoy.

She gave me a worm's-eye view of Eros with no hint of pornography. Her sexual adventures, from Istanbul to Bombay to Buenos Aires, to a night in a sleazy motel off the Jersey Turnpike, not to mention shacking up with a gangster in Greenwich Village, showed me how a daring woman can fulfill her fantasies. Barbara is an erotic pilgrim in the steps of Jacques Casanova and Anais Nin. The places she has gone, the men she has met and slept with, were adept guides to help extend her sexual range. Bawdy and bookish, she found romance in places that today we risk real harm if we go. The women of Barbara’s Confessions Club eat up her tales, then add their own to the brew. Deaf and Unheard” is a delightfully rambling romp through the life of a deaf, asexual, vegetarian eccentric who discovers late in life that his Polish ancestry was fabricated by his late mother.In this densely-packed narrative, Dorek leads the reader through the dizzying labyrinth of his brain, taking frequent indulgent side-trips that he cheerfully admits are distractions from the main task.While it is relieving to read at the end that “writing this book has made me comfortable in my own skin”, the book reaches far beyond Dorek’s quirky personality, touching on a wide range of topics, from politics, religion, and art to love and sexuality.Despite his self-professed “lack of courage to spout forth in public” like the soapboxers in Hyde Park, Dorek shouts from the rooftops in this book - even taking flight very dramatically with descriptions of his bizarre fantasies about murdering political figures, cross-dressing, and stealing antiques.For readers familiar with Patricia Borlenghi, some familiar themes resurface and some deeply personal aspects also emerge, including Dorek’s struggle with otosclerosis.

It took under two hours to read and held my interest the entire time. The book was very well done, well researched and well written. I have recommended it to all my friends. It is a handsome book with a very professional illustration on the cover. Kudos to the writer and artist, well done.

Anyone with an empathy for WWII survivors should read this short well crafted gem. Felicia represented a triumph in courage. Her daughter in law has done her proud.

About the Author Geboren am 10.03.1873 in Fürth, gestorben am 01.01.1934 in Altaussee/Steiermark. Wassermanns Vater war ein jüdischer Spielwarenfabrikant. Nach der Schulzeit ging er bei seinem Onkel in Wien in die Lehre, die er jedoch bald abbrach. Nach dem Militärdienst arbeitete er als Versicherungsangestellter in Nürnberg. Ab 1894 arbeitet er in München und wird dem Verleger Albert Langen als Autor empfohlen. Während seiner dreijährigen Tätigkeit als Lektor beim "Simplicissimus" lernt er Thomas Mann , Rainer Maria Rilke und Hugo von Hofmannsthal kennen. Später war er Theaterkorrespondent in Wien.

Fascinating look at the German Jewiry By Kindle Customer I first read Wsssermann's later novels (Der Fall Maritius, Joseph Kerkovens Zweites Leben and Edzel Andersch) a few years ago. I found him to be a master story teller with the ability to record the mental anguish of his characters.I decided to read Die Juden von Zirndorf, the novel which started Wassermann's literary career. I downloaded the Kindle book before my 2012 summer vacation and read it during a trip to Germany that included visits to cities mentioned in the novel. The Kindle format was great for travel. As an non native speaker of German a dictionary would ave been nice but for some reason this function is not available on the Kindle Fire.The novel itself was fascinating, a combination of historical settings, mystical events that would be in place in "magic realism" and deep psychological insight. It is easy to see who the writer of this book grew into the man Thomas Mann praised as a master story teller.
