It is very encouraging, insightful and a great testimony to what God can do when we feel like all is lost. When we are at the bottom, with nothing to offer, God shows up and takes our nothing and turns it into something extraordinary. Pastor Doug does a great job sharing his personal experiences from losing everything during Hurricane Katrina, then adding practical and biblical insight for the reader. What makes this book even more powerful for me personally is that while reading it I realized that I met Pastor Doug for the first time not long after the Hurricane. He was very encouraging and giving during a very difficult time.A very heartfelt, raw, and authentic read that encourages us to trust God no matter how much or how little we have.

Not far from Rachel and Doug's home, which didn't survive the hurricane. Our home was one of the few that remained unscathed. There was a ceramic vase on the patio that was standing exactly where we left it but with one side of the paint and clay wiped away like so much mud, yet without destroying the vessel. The house was miraculously spared. But, our ability to go through another hurricane was destroyed. We made plans to relocate to Idaho. But, not before I had a message for Doug that my house had been preserved for them. Doug listened, but didn't contact me and continued trying to put their lives back together. We put the house up for sale and I left for Idaho. Three previous sales fell through before my husband could leave Louisiana and join us. When he finally went to closing, guess who had bought the house without having a clue that it was our? When the Lord builds a house....This book is the true story of a whole lot of miracles and the FOG Doug and Rachel taught us to live in; the Favor Of God. You'll enjoy it and learn from it. I highly recommend it.
