About the Author Elizabeth Lueda Amerine earned her doctorate in clinical psychology in 1990 after previous careers in travel and real estate. She has published a poetry memoir, The Way We Were, and has been published in several poetry anthologies. She taught at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas and at Richland College in Dallas, Texas. This is her first novel, but she has been writing stories since the age of 6 while at home with the chicken pox. Writing has been a constant part of her life as has her interest in human behavior, relationships, history and mythology. Not to mention reading. Her mantra is Read More Books.

By Susie Gates Beguiled by the title and story line, I read through in just a couple of days. Ms. Amerine deftly wove her characters' life ambitions with their past experiences to capture and hold my interest throughout their suspenseful adventures. Like other authors I enjoy, she left me wanting more so I'll be on the lookout for a sequel, or maybe a series. Most definitely worth your time and a great beach or vacation read this summer!

It was a fascinating read. Emotions run high in this novel...a struggle for independence vs. love and responsibility tearing at each other. A mystery of danger and intrigue coupled with history and hints of romance. Hope there will be a sequel.
