I highly appreciated Mahtob's transparency about everything, especially her faith which she shares in a very natural, thoughtful way.

It's set in the small town of Middlemarch where the men outnumber the women. The town council (made up of panther shifters) thought of having a "love train" bring women to their town and participate in a singles dance. The idea was that some of the young men would find a mate and settle down, thus not causing any more hijinks that would bring attention to them.Saber is the the older brother to his four siblings causing the trouble so at the dance he doesn't expect to find a woman who makes his panther purr. Little does he know the woman, Emily has a lot of emotional baggage she has been trying to work through and only planned to attend the dance for a one night stand. Emily's deceased husband inflicted a lot of emotional and verbal abuse so she thinks she is done with men until she meets Saber.I really enjoyed the story idea, I thought it was a fresh way for a shifter to meet their mate. I instantly felt the spark between Saber and Emily and was rooting for their happily ever after. I also liked Saber's younger brother's, I can't wait to read their stories.The was a pesky reporter that is nosing around because of "alleged" panther sightings and she is trying to get proof but other than that not much comes from her part in the story. Perhaps more will come of it in later installments of the series. I really want to know if she finds out the truth and exposes the shifters or something else happens with her.I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series.I was provided a copy of this manuscript from the author in exchange for an honest review.

My Scarlet Woman By Evampire After emerging from her chrysalis of painful memories, Emily Scarlet sets out to prove she has what it takes to attract a man and experience one perfect night of passion in this captivating paranormal romance.Saber Mitchell’s brothers are out of control, so he hopes to get them mated and settled and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as Saber’s plan goes a little off course when he spots Emily. The chemistry is a hot bed of intoxicating passion and the sex scenes are scorching but this relationship has a problem, due to Emily’s past and personal demons, she’s determined to keep it at the sex only stage which causes a bit of emotional angst. These strong compelling characters captivate readers while the well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot draws readers in.Shelley Munro has created another sexy feline world with a small community setting that makes a perfect backdrop for these shifters and it has a bit of a fun and promising hook as Middlemarch has a shortage of women but they have come up with a way to change that and I can’t wait for my next visit to Middlemarch to find out who meets their mate next.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Smoking hot Kitty! By Gma Teri I absolutely loved this book! It's the beginning book of the Middlemarch book series by Shelley Munro. Yes, it's been redone and spruced up, it even has a new chapter. Plus, I think she's added more than that to it, so now it's even better! I loved the fact of the Love Train bringing females to a town where there are too many males. Saber is a black panther and his brothers are out of control. So he and the other members of the Feline Shifter Council decide to have a dance bringing females from out of town so the younger males can find mates and settle down. Only Sabers in for a surprise, a surprise by the name of Jo (or should I say Emily). Ms. Munro writes with a sense of humor, you'll find your mouth twitching or out and out smiling while reading her books. You just can't help it! Recommend to all you shifter lovers out there! If you like smoking hot shifters, steamy love scenes, with a good plot written with a sense of humor you'll love her writing too. Not sure how long she'll have it on KU, so don't wait too long to read and decide if you want to buy it for your personal collection. It's a great series!

Los micros también tienen corazón y sentido del humor. Y te dan la satisfacción de que por poco rato que tengas para leer te da tiempo a leerte uno o dos enteros. El único pero, es que no sea más largo. Espero que Frank Spoiler publique más relatos, porque imaginación y calidad no le faltan. Lo bueno si breve, dos veces bueno es una vez más cierto. Lembcke (Review first published at Goodreads by myself - Deutsche Fassung weiter unten)Amazon Prime lent.Read in German, as it was written in German and is currently (June 2015) not available in English, as far as I checked.This is a debut, so more like 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. Straightforward serial killer story, but nicely done.Real characters, some likeable, some not, no sex, and for once no sexual motive.But the most interesting idea is revealed in the beginning, after that there is no more who-dunnit or big twists, but suspense is still good, with little twists and the killer has done some nice planning without being omnipotent. And still has some improvising to do, when things go wrong, which is managed quite well, well up till the end. What I really liked, the police did not cut corners or do something against the law, no vigilante or law bending, although the last decision is questionable.As you may be able to lend it free with Amazon Prime or Amazon Unlimited, I recommend to do so, the price asked for it (4,99 Eur) feels too high, and for a book you may read once, too much.German Review:Ausgeliehen mit Amazon Prime.Als Debut habe ich die Wertung aufgerundet, es sind eher 3,5 Sterne.Einfach gehaltene Serien-Killer-Geschichte, aber nett gemacht.Echte Personen und Charaktere, manche sympathisch, manche nicht, kein Sex und vor allem endlich mal kein Sexual-Motiv.Allerdings wird die interessanteste Idee gleich am Anfang enthüllt, danach gibt es kein "wer könnte der Täter sein" oder grossartige Twists mehr, aber die Spannung wird gut gehalten mit kleineren Twists und der Killer hat nette vorausgeplant, ohne omnipotent zu wirken.Und dann muss er noch improvisieren, wenn etwas schiefgeht, was ihm bis kurz vor Schluss gut gelingt. A Decent But Non-Spectacular Ending By Asher Dorshimer Batman Eternal Vol 3 finally wraps up the massive weekly series following Batman and his allies struggling against a large conspiracy to destroy them. Answers are finally given, and the crazy factor explodes until the end at least.Scott Synder and James Tynion IV's tale, among with many other writers, moves at a sluggish pace for a good part of the book. It isn't until the final few chapters that the climax is truly realized. With Wayne enterprises bankrupt, Batman has to deal with losing his unending supplies of resources and gadgets. While this could lead to a very compelling element, Batman still proves to have a massive amount of tricks and gadgets so the stakes never feel greater than ever, unlike how "Batman RIP" realized what a homeless Batman would be like. While Batman struggles to find the architect of the main conspiracy, Spoiler and Harper Row finally get to suit up and join in on the action. While its amazing to see Spoiler in action again, she makes some... questionable choices. While all the threads more or less lead to one final crazy battle, a new twist brings in a new threat, who only gets one issue to be explained and defeated!!!! Also if you haven't read Batman The Court of Owls, this final twist will mean nothing to you, If this was brought on in the fourth too last issue, it would have been fantastic, but sadly the ending feels very very rushed, with no follow ups on the characters in the aftermath. On the art side of things, another wave of artists come in for the covers and interiors. Sadly Jason Fabok doesn't contribute more than covers, but all the art is solid. Its still jarring between some of the shifts in artists, but overall the visual vibe and tone of the series still exists.Batman Eternal was a massive epic that manages to land a somewhat solid ending, one that is more of a simple layout than a slam dunk finish. While it contains moments of greatness and cool twists and turns, the event was simply too big for it's own good. Its still a great read as an entire saga, and leads into Batman: Endgame, which is another story...

I'd rather have the covers before each issue because they seem to randomly put filler or sidestory issues in the mix and it gets confusing, but once you get back on track this volume is amazing.

All about friendship By Verva Densmore When an artist uses Pointillism, a dot of color touches the canvas and is added to other dots until a clear picture forms. In her book "All About B.A.D." Melba Heselmeyer uses a short chapter format that works this same way. Each vignette gives the reader a dot of color that slowly reveals her characters, with all their pains, pleasures and personalities. There are times when this technique is very effective, but there are also times when I want more. I want her to go deeper so I can learn more about the situation or the location or the person. Still, by the end of the book I felt as if I knew and understood her characters. They were familiar, like someone I would actually know, maybe somebody I do know. They are the women we see all around us. Women who are struggling with relationships, love, illness, and pain but put on a happy face to wait our tables, serve our food, brighten our day. The action in this book is interior. It shows us how women deal with the everyday struggles of life and help each other through the tough spots while laughing through the good. It's a book about enduring friendships, the kind of friendships that make life wonderful. A book that is a pleasure to read.

Set in East Texas and Galveston in the 1960s, it tells the story of Bernadette Ann Donahue (B.A.D.) and her best friend, Lilly, who grow up in Lone Grove, Texas. Both of them – but especially BAD - long to escape the confines of their small town and rural poverty for the hope of something better and brighter. BAD does break free but discovers life outside of Lone Grove is hard and filled with unexpected challenges. Meanwhile, Lilly carves her own path back home. These two are joined by a host of colorful characters as they navigate life using their native talents – art (BAD) and writing (Lilly). The author, a native of East Texas and longtime resident of Houston, uses her lyrical prose style to capture indelible images of authentic small town life and the coastal city of Galveston.

Young girls huddling in girlish friendship, making pacts and wondering about the world beyond the piney woods of East Texas. The author uses a colorful, terse style to lure you into their lives, allowing the reader access to the characters at a pace that is no faster than the characters would have wanted you to know about them. With enticing glimpses ahead, soon you are loath to put the book down. At the end, you will have new friends, friends that are living their lives of joys and sorrows, surprises and setbacks, and all the while with a toughness and charm distinct to their roots. A new author, a first book, and a good story that will draw you in.

Like Mr Kenny, I followed a similar path and his words reverberated down the years for me.The picture he paints of the volunteers, the kibbutz members and the chickens(!) is so very true. Ex Kibbutz volunteers will love this book the rest of the population will have a crystal clear image of a unique social experiment in a unique country.Can't wait for 'Kibbutz - Part II' to hit the shelves/e-reader.

It is a wonderfully descriptive memoir capturing the innocence and sense of adventure of a young Irish man searching for something different to Dublin of the early nineties. It effortlessly combines great humour with some truly poignant moments. It is happily lacking in a political agenda which I found refreshing as often books about such troubled areas of the world are firmly couched in bias on one side or the other. Kenny simply and effectively informs the reader about the political context only as far as is necessary for understanding. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

Everything looked eerily familiar, and he saw nothing but the same spanning before him. He decided that travel was just the thing, so he packed up his brother's army duffel bag and hit the airways. He'd seen a documentary on television about life on an Israeli kibbutz (communal settlement), and made that his ultimate travel goal.Joseph's first two months were spent in France. At first I didn't get why this was included, but life in France adds to the stark contrast of life on a kibbutz. Joseph ends up on a kibbutz in the Negev, the most stark and isolated part of Israel. With no exposure to the Jewish faith or any Hebrew, this Irish lapsed Catholic is definitely in a strange land.Life on a kibbutz is not for sissies. The work is hard and endless, and the future for young Israelis is 3-4 years in the Israeli army. The food is extremely healthy, but monotonous, and communal living can definitely have its drawbacks. Despite all this, Joseph feels something compelling about life in Sederet. This strange compulsion becomes firmly established when he falls in love with a young Israeli girl. Joseph hints that this relationship continues into the future.Joseph Kenny's prose is brilliant. It's worth reading this book just to get acquainted with his writing.I would love a continuation of this story.
