Review Five Stars By fabien larco on November 2, 2015 Great book waiting on the next one Great Read, 2 Nov. 2015 By Eric Neilson  Having read a lot of Timothy Ellis books I was eager to read the direction that this short story took. Quite a pleasant surprise from previous story lines whilst keeping within the main plot. It is rated R and straight to the point in the first couple of pages. However, the majority of the story was not R rated, (Spoiler, sorry) consisting of only a couple more R rated paragraphs towards the end. The tracing and the eventual capture of the killer by Burnside and Jane I thought was first rate. I found the interaction between the new character of Burnside and the existing AI Jane to be well thought out as a story.It would appear, as has been suggested by others, that the AI of Jane has achieved or is now becoming Sentient which leaves countless possibilities for Timothy Ellis to add further novellas (Please) to the main plot line of the Hunter Legacy books.Did the novella do the job for me? Yes. A thoroughly good read.But of course as readers, we are always left wanting more.... I now have to wait unfortunately for the next release which seems so far away

From the Author I cheerfully admit this is a strange book. :)It started out as an experimental short story to see if I could write something outside Sci-Fi and Space Opera, going more R-rated than I had before, and introducing a touch of horror. It was however, too short to publish, so I put it aside. A while later, it occured to me it was the perfect beginning for a detective story.I then hit a month where I was mostly unable to write due to health issues. The ideas kept coming though, as they always do. I woke up one morning thinking it would actually fit into the Hunter Legacy universe, but wasn't able to do anything with it then.When I finally was able to start on Hire a Hero, the next Jon Hunter novel, I had several false starts. I suddenly realized that Burnside's Killer needed to be told first, and it had to be from a different point of view to the previous novels. Once written, I had to decide if it was part of the main story line, or just a story in the same universe. It rapidly became obvious this was part of the main story, and in particular, part of Jane's story, and while only a novella in size, it was book 6 in the series. There are other long series out there with novella's appearing in the middle of them, so this has precedent.This also solved another problem I'd been wondering about. The previous 5 books had begun as a trilogy, and expanded to 5 instead. But people tend to think in terms of trilogies, leaving this one unfinished to eyes not reading the Author notes. As an interlude novella between part one of the ongoing story, and the yet to be released part two, it restores trilogy balance to the series, and starts the next trilogy off with book 7, Hire a Hero. So while this book is a mix of Space opera, detective story, and r-rated horror in the bedroom, it is part of the Hunter Legacy series, and does feature Jon and the twins. The main characters though, are Burnside, Jane and Janet.For those who wanted more of Jane, this one is especially for you.

Another exciting story in the Hunter Legacy universe By Mr. E Once again, we have been provided with an excellent story from author Timothy Ellis.Created as a novella in his ongoing Hunter Legacy series, Burnside's Killer bridges the gap between Hail the Hero and Hire a Hero. Set from the perspective of Special Investigator Richard Burnside, it tells the story of his chase for an elusive killer who has a peculiar way of committing murder and then vanishing with hardly a trace. Finally, after years of tracking the killer yet staying one step behind, Burnside finally gets the break he needs and finds out where the killer is going next. As he continues his journey, Richard gets help from some interesting places and some interesting people - including Captain Jane.An excellent story full of adventure, intrigue and mystery, Burnside's Killer will take you on a ride you will not soon forget.

Mr. E has the best summary of the book . The blurb correctly mentions this is an R rated no avail of much more explicit sex. The means The killer uses may have many men wincing and very uncomfortable . However the book is very good read and you get a good background on Jane and the other AI clones and what they do when Jon is not around. It was also intriguing to see how Jane herself is developing. This even makes me look more forward to hire a hero when timothy Ellis finishes writing it.

In fact, it was the best Novella I have ever read in this Genre. Thanks Timothy Ellis for writing this. Excellent job. I keep waiting for this series to peter out like so many ultimately do, but they just keep getting better and that is no small feat at all. I am on #7 and only wish it was about 3x as long! Cheers!

By Mamalove I got my mouth hanging open, ok im closing it now##### Sam comes home to a man who died in her arms 5yrs ago to find him in the dark in her bedroom. He's stayed away but has watched over her. He has lied about who what he is, will she believe in him and the love they once shared. Its short but in this first installment we as readers learn a lot about the characters and a great set up to an AWESOME SERIES. I just hate WAITING. AWESOME writing Kenzi Kreel!!

From the Author Throughout our lives we have heard numerous stories about unusual phenomenon's and supernatural occurrences happening to people.  For the most part of what we read, seen or heard are stories that at best is third hand information where someone allegedly witnessed a phenomenon then told it to another who then in turn told us.  Yet despite hearing and reading about these incredible stories there was no way to determine or confirm the original source of the story or to identify the original author of this paranormal phenomenon. That said; imagine then a different perspective that was witnessed firsthand regarding the human species drama on terra firma then what we are being led to believe by the government.  Furthermore, imagine numerous incidents have happened to this individual firsthand where these phenomenons were discussed with loved ones and friends throughout his life. Finally these numerous phenomenon's finally made that individual realize that spiritual beings and advance life forms have been and are communicating with us on an ongoing basis throughout our life but we failed to recognize it.  Further it became apparent that communication with advance life forms would not occur through primitive transmissions of "nonorganic" binary code or from signature signals received from deep space through radio astronomy.   But rather the transmissions by advance "organic" spiritual beings occur through visions and dreams played out in real time which has been occurring to the human species since our creation.  It became apparent then that the human species was immersed in a life force that has intelligence known as "A Presence" which was all around us, yet unseen, and that the supernatural encounters or transmissions, signals and revelations have gone "unrealized" and "unrecognized." This would mean what was being witnessed and occurring had a totally "different twist" regarding life in general and the whole UFO, ancient alien question presented from mainstream media and the government appears to be a deliberate diversion to mast and shroud the truth from humanity. Imagine then the paranormal experiences were based on observation, training and experience and observed at point blank range which forced certain conclusions that are quite different at times to the U.F.O. phenomenon being revealed to the human race by mainstream media.  Against this backdrop, I have relentlessly pursued the truth as to why life is the way it is and upon being witnessed to these numerous phenomenon's followed it where it led me which was ultimately to write this book. Furthermore as I age I realized somewhere "out there" as my mental faculties begin to diminish my memory of these phenomenons would pass on to eternity unknown.  So like a dying declaration I had to preserve this final testimonial of what I witnessed and observed directly throughout my life so that the human species of which I was an integral part of could hopefully benefit from it, even if it be just one.  To this end, I refused to let my experience die on the vine or go unnoticed because something(s) "out there" has gone to great lengths to reveal numerous phenomenons', which apparently is being overlooked by the human species.  That is, there is a message or messages here being transmitted in plain view by an intelligent life force for a reason and purpose yet we still continue to look in all the wrong directions despite the evidence.  While scientists diligently search for intelligent life forms via bits and pieces of infinite computer code signals sent endlessly through deep space, perhaps they should best utilized their efforts by looking in our own backyard to that which is obvious.  That is there are universal and organic advanced life forms transmitting to us continuously and talking to us individually yet we have failed to recognize and have been deliberately conditioned to overlook the obvious of a universal medium of transmissions through visions and dreams?  For life is a jigsaw puzzle where all of us are given little pieces of the puzzle of the eternity we exist in from the eternal mind of God. "For heaven is within us", as the King of Righteousness has stated and a universal life force has been continuously transmitting but the error is in our receptors and interpretation of the data correctly. For indeed the Creator of this endless universe of all things seen and unseen wants His children to "know Him!" With this in mind, I've decided that before I "depart the pattern" of Earth and head back out into the void of deep space to seek my place among the stars again, I must leave behind these certain experiences and truths that I witnessed first hand which may help someone to realize that they are not alone as they walk through the darkness and evil that surrounds them.  So for the sake of the God fearing good men and women out there I realized that I should not depart this earth without telling them about these phenomenon's which hopefully may not only prove as a confirmation of faith to them but also may be beneficial to their spiritual health and growth.  That being said, "My conscience is clear and I am free now."

By A Customer This book was soooooo great, that you absolutely must read it.The summary you read above, does not begin to describe how wonderful this book really is. When I read this book, I could not put it down. And when I was done, I had to read it again. But you see, usually, I can not re-read a book until atleast 2 years pass. By A Customer Betrayed,Beguiled, True Heart, Highland rogue--ANY book Ms. Lamb writes is on the top of my list! I would buy and recommend any of her past or present or future MASTERPIECES! SHE IS JUST AWESOME! Her characters are well-defined yet changeable and so realistic yet "fictional" enough for women to drool over the PHINE men in the books and really care about what happens to the heroines and the couple at the end! A very good, fun and passionately warm read!

There really weren't many characters to get into. The story was not easy to follow. Kind of choppy. It seemed like the whole story changed in one turn of the page. Sarah kept her distance until almost the end then I turned the page and WOW everything was great between her and Michael. I was glad to finish this book so I could get on to a better story. I enjoy authors of historical romance like Kat Martin, Lynsay Sands etc. I thought this book to be boring. was boring.

About the Author Eriko N. Valk, PhD, known by her friends and peers as “Dr. V” is the founder of Liberty Path, Inc., a Christian-based nonprofit counseling center where she, together with other therapists, have helped people recover since 2004.

In 2009 a local television station (KPRC) and a local Christian radio station (KSBJ) awarded Eriko the prestigious Jefferson Award after one of her clients nominated her. Eriko was also elected to represent NW Houston Business and Professional Women as their Woman of Excellence during the same year. She speaks at area churches and has made several television appearances.

Eriko possesses doctoral degrees in social work and psychology and has channeled her education and experience for the sole purpose of helping others heal.

Through God's grace, Eriko overcame emotional pain from abandonment, and addiction, and has been sober since 9/28/1991.

Eriko and her husband Randall love to fish. They live in Houston, Texas, together with their yellow lab, Bailey, who rules.

It is perfectly written, easy to read an full of power. Full of faith. Full of tenacity. Eriko has the most interesting story to tell...a story that is heartbreaking and courageous and inspiring. The only problem is that the cover is made out of thin cardboard that isn't coated with anything, and the top and bottom holes for the coil are already fraying and ripping. The first notebook I had like this was the purple kitties in space and the cover is coated with something, I had it for a long time and the holes never ripped like this.

Tran Note: I received a review copy.Somewhat spoiler warning: This ends with a cliffhanger. The author's endnotes states that the "final installment" will be released 12/22/2015.Less spoiler-y warning: There is a book 5.5 (see my other reviews). I highly recommend 5.5 before embarking on book 6. 5.5 is a shorter oeuvre, and explores less-explored characters. While you don't need to do so, the character exposition and adventures in 5.5 will enrich your enjoyment of 6.This book goes into Cas (one of the protagonists in "Deathmaker," book 2) in quite a bit of depth. We also get a lot of dialogue from one of my favorite characters, Jaxi. Cas has become depressed over the events of "Blade's Memory", book 5, and this is mostly Cas's adventure. As is usual, Lindsay Buroker weaves fast, headlong action, together with engaging characters (even the somewhat villainous ones), and snappy dialogues--internal and external. A new villain (or villain upgrade) appears in book 5.5, but book 6 is the full entrance, and Cas gets to try to help solve problems. Don't worry, though--we get a lot of Ridge, Sardelle, Tolemek, and how can we forget Jaxi?If you've read the other Dragon's Blood books, you won't want to miss this installment. If you can't stand a cliffhanger, wait 2 months, and buy books 6 & 7 when book 7 comes out. You can scratch your itch with book 5.5. If you haven't read the other Dragon Blood installments, find book 1 and try it. If you enjoy (mind you, book 1 ends neatly, so you can choose to stop at just 1 book), then, buy the rest of the series.

I did see however that this next book may be the final installment of this series I hope not though because I love reading about By Daryl I'm not an avid reader, But I decided to check this series out, and got hooked. Lindsay keeps me laughing and amused with anticipation of what is going to happen next in the plot. Raptor book 6 Left me wanting more. So I grabbed my tablet looked on kindle and found she has another book coming out in December so I preordered it right away. Can not wait to see what happens next. I did see however that this next book may be the final installment of this series I hope not though because I love reading about the adventures Sardelle, cas, Deathmaker, jaxi, & Ridgewalker and many more characters that are in her series of books. Lindsay has made me want to read again and that says a lot to me and the people around me. Some of my friends are even now interested in the story and have borrowed my books. lolThank you Lindsay for your great story telling. :)

Raptor seamlessly takes you on the next exciting adventure in the Dragon Blood series.Buroker’s world building is fantastic in that she makes a true fantasy environment feel familiar and right. Her characters are fully developed and she manages to take the common, irritating, quirky family traits that exist in all families, in one form or another, and makes them humorous rather than irritating. There is not a single "normal" person in her stories and there is definitely not a single "normal" family. Thank goodness; how boring that would be!Buroker gives us:- An assassin.- A dragon releasing King.- A beautiful, kind-hearted sorceress with a savior complex.- A snarky, talking, meddling, sorceress imbued sword.- A crazy, hot, wooden dragon rubbing (for luck), well-intentioned rogue fighter pilot whose luck seems to hold; the dragon rubbing must work.- An innocent, childlike, dragon loving sorceress in training.- A silver dragon, who can turn into a human, has questionable judgement, and is attached to the sorceress in training.- A dreadlocks wearing, mad scientist, ex-pirate who is hated by most, feared by everyone smart, and yet lovable at the same time .- A tiny but mighty assassin trained sharpshooter carrying a load of guilt and a deadly sword she doesn't want.- A young, gangly, self-deprecating pilot given the call sign Pimples...yikes...not exactly confidence inspiring.- A spot on demolitions chick.- A couple of wicked, lying, criminal gold dragons accidentally set loose who kill and plunder.- A gold dragon who thinks himself god and everyone else his worshippers; at least he helps when needed.- A supporting array of pilots, military brass, hardened criminals, and all those family misfits.A cast unlike any other....so much fun and rather endearing.Raptor is full of dragons, magic, cave-ins, crazy exploits, and non-stop humor and action. It is also filled with some real physical and emotional pain, fears, and misplaced guilt which make the characters real. All said, you really should read Raptor just to find out what happens to the sofa. Yep, the fate of a sofa is quite hilarious and pops up throughout the story.I can't leave you without an important word of warning...be wary of swords!“Please. I had a great time reading this, although this book is bought for my son, I couldn't help but read it before he does. Get some really good laugh with this trio as they are planning to scare everyone just in time for the halloween. I Iike the fact that this book is very well illustrated and with a childlike dialogue that even a 5-year old would love to flip through the pages.

Talkative Top, quiet, but jockey Zop and Funny Crud can easily attract your attention in this Zombie story. I haven't read such funny minecraft story recently. Really fantastic!

There is too much technobabble, the plot and scenes jump around too much and there are too many characters. The science is germane to the story but is too complicated. Nonetheless, I did enjoy the book. There is some humor and author Susy Gage writes with a light tone. There is suspense and a slew of likeable characters and some not so likeable. This book is a cross-genre science fiction detective story and I recommend it for readers interested in both genres. However, Robert Sawyer's Red Planet Blues, similarly cross-genre, is a more enjoyable read.
